Dr. Robert Lowry – Concussion & Brain Injury Specialist
Dr. Robert Lowry is a board-certified physician with more than 30 years of experience in surgery, rehabilitation, and brain injury treatment. Not just a “sports doctor”, his practice focuses on the full medical management of concussions and traumatic brain injuries for patients of all ages, whether the injury happened on the field, in an accident, or at home.
After graduating from The George Washington University School of Medicine in 1993, Dr. Lowry completed a General Surgery Residency in San Antonio, later joining an established hand surgery practice and a complementary medicine group. He went on to complete a Fellowship in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, where his work further deepened his understanding of neurological recovery.
Dr. Lowry’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from The University of California, Irvine (Honors in Research) and a Master’s degree in Physiology from California State University, Long Beach.
Since 2010, Dr. Lowry has treated thousands of concussion patients, using advanced diagnostic techniques such as EEG to uncover underlying sleep injuries that can hinder recovery. His patients include not only athletes, but also car accident victims, fall injuries, and other non-sports-related brain trauma cases. His approach blends medical precision with compassion, ensuring every patient feels heard, understood, and supported throughout recovery.
